Bulk Live Rosin Tier 2

When we isolate a specific range of resin from the 90 micron range, we only do so in the first two washes- the final washes include the 90u within the 45u bag. Once the wash is complete we mix all of the 45u collected throughout the process including the 45u-89u collected on the first two washes and the 45u-159u collected on the final washes. We then press that into our Tier 2 Rosin which would be labeled as 45u-159u Tier#2 Rosin.

Live Rosin vs Dry Cured Rosin:

There are two forms of input for solvent-less extraction: “Live” and “Dry Cured” material. “Live” material refers to cannabis that has been harvested and immediately frozen while the plant is still alive, resulting in an end product called Live Rosin. “Dry Cured” material, on the other hand, refers to cannabis that has been dried and cured like regular smokeable flower, but is then transformed into an extract called Dry Cured Rosin. The flavor profile of Dry Cured Rosin is similar to traditional hash, while Live Rosin has a profile that resembles the way the plant looked and smelled while it was still growing.

Live Rosin vs Live Resin

With all the different types of extracts on the market, differentiating between one and other can be very confusing. Two types of extracts that often get confused by the name are Live Resin and Live Rosin.

Both are a ‘Live’ product meaning the input material used was fresh-frozen during the harvest process, but forms of extraction are completely different.

Live Resin uses a blend solvents such as butane or pentane to extract the oil from the material under pressure and then must go through multiple steps of refinement before it is ready to be consumed. This extraction process captures every drop of oil from the material which is then refined through different filtration medias as much as needed for the end product and then must remove any remaining gasses before it is ready to be consumed.

Live Rosin is a solvent-less process that only involves ice, water, heat, and pressure to create a product that is ready to be consumed right away. Live Rosin is the process of extracting only the resin from the plant and refining it to a pure oil with filtration utilizing heat and pressure.

Basic Terminology:

Micron (the ‘u’ in 90u): referring to the size pore in the wash bags in which the trichome heads fall in.

Ice Water Hash: the process of extracting resin from cannabis using ice, water, and agitation to remove the trichome heads from the plant

Live Rosin: solvent-less hash oil made from fresh
frozen material.

Dry-Cured Rosin: solvent-less hash oil made from dry cured material.

Live Resin: cannabis extract made from fresh frozen material and extracted utilizing a form of hydrocarbon gas such as butane or pentane.
